THE HOMECOMING
When I finally get home
I will slip off my coat
I will take off my jacket and trousers
I will undo my shirt
I will slip off my shoes
I will take off my socks and my drawers
I will lift off my hair
I will slip off my skin
Stepping out from my muscles and bones
I will cast off my hopes
And let fall my fears
Putting aside all my judgments
I will throw off my doubts
And set aside pride
And cast off all physical ailments
I will stand fresh and new
Once more shining and true
When I finally get back to my home
